The mounting base features a removable "sticky" adhesive that provides a strong mounting connection, yet is removable and reusable.  Swivels into landscape or portrait mode.  Though the suction pad feels sticky to the touch, it will leave no residue when removed.  If the base loses suction over time due to an accumulation of dust or dirt, lightly wash the base with liquid soap to recharge the suction power.

These mounts will attach to anything that is flat including windshields and dashboards.  This includes a textured dashboard.  Just make sure it's clean before use.
