The Icom IC-M402 is a compact 25 Watt transceiver. Completely submersible to J.I.S. 7 standards, the M402 is waterproof to 3' for 30 minutes. Icom designed the radio with a Smart Mic which means there are channel controls and a 16/9 emergency button built into the mic. The built-in DSC allows you to send a mayday distress message at a push of the button along with the current lat/long position as well as vessel identification. Additional DSC features, such as private calling and position polling are also standard. Receives all Marine VHF Channels. Other features include: Selectable dual/tri watch; Tag scan system, which allows you to pick what channels you want to scan; Normal scan; and Command Mic capability.
